How to make a claim

We’re sorry that something has happened to your pet and you need to make a claim.

To make a claim, first, complete a claims form together with your vet and send it to our underwriter, Covéa.

You can choose from two claims forms depending on your case:

a form for either a new condition or a form for a recurring condition.



Next, send the form either via Email or Post:

In short, it’s our insurer (Covéa Insurance plc) that’ll pay your claim. Firstly they will assess your claim and then they’ll decide on whether it is valid or not. First, they will complete their assessment – which generally takes 1-3 working days – before they let you know the outcome of your claim.

Our insurer aims to pay out successful claims as quickly as possible. Should they require additional information, they will aim to collect this from you or your vet within 3 working days, and then process the claim as quickly as possible. Where a claim is accepted and payment is required from Covéa to you or your vet, they usually make this payment immediately.

We’ll display the latest status of your claim in our online customer portal but you can also call Covéa on 0330 134 8115 to get an update.

No, if your pet has a medical emergency you should contact your vet immediately as they will be able to decide on the best course of action. Should you then need to claim for any treatment and care your vet provides you will be able to submit this to us afterwards.
