Tractive Pet Cover | What is a Lifetime Policy?

What is Lifetime Pet Insurance?

It’s important you understand what we mean by Lifetime. We know this can be quite confusing, which is why we want to explain exactly how our Lifetime Policy works.

Our Lifetime Policy doesn’t guarantee that we’ll be able to provide cover for your pets’ entire life. It does however, where renewed, continue to cover conditions that arose during the total life of the cover from first policy inception with us, subject to the terms and conditions in the Policy Wording.

Our Lifetime Policy is a 12-month annual contract which is subject to terms, conditions, and underwriting criteria. This 12-month period is known as the Policy Term. At the end of each Policy Term, if our underwriter invites you to renew your cover and you decide to accept by continuing to make your payments (either monthly or annually) the policy will be renewed and the veterinary fee limit chosen will be available again.

You can of course choose not to renew the policy at the premium offered. Premiums usually increase in line with the age of the pet.

Occasionally, our underwriter may find as part of their annual review that they can’t offer to renew your policy for the next Policy Term. This can be for a variety of reasons as underwriting criteria and terms can change from time to time. If this ever happens, we'll be sure to notify you as soon as possible to give you time to find alternative cover before your policy term ends.
