Will there be any downtime or service interruptions during the transition?
We’re committed to ensuring a smooth transition without service interruptions. Your Whistle device and app will continue to work until August 31, 2025. We encourage you to transition to Tractive before that time to ensure you can continue to track your pet.
If you transfer your Whistle subscription to Tractive and receive your Tractive device before August 31, 2025, both devices will continue to work until Whistle turns off after August 31, 2025.
Will there be any promotional offers or discounts for switching to Tractive?
Tractive will not only provide a free Tractive device (a value of $49.99-$99.99 depending on the device), but also transfer your remaining subscription time over to Tractive. Should you currently not have an active subscription with Whistle or should your remaining time be less than 60 days, Tractive will add 60 days to your chosen subscription upon signup. Offer valid until September 30, 2025.
Where do I find the serial number of my Whistle device?
In an email from Whistle, you will have received confirmation of the Whistle device serial number(s) linked to an active or previous subscription, along with the email address associated with your Whistle account.
As well as this, on your Whistle device you can find the serial number on the back of the tracker. Depending on your model, the serial number will start with the following format:

Premium Plan - includes additional features such as Global Coverage, Family Sharing, and 365-day Location History, with payment options for 1, 2, or 5 years.

What if I want to end my Whistle subscription?
You don't need to take any action to end your Whistle subscription. With the Whistle platform officially sunsetting on August 31, 2025, your subscription will automatically end on that date. Until then, you'll continue to have full access to your device and subscription features.
However, we encourage you to take advantage of Tractive’s special offer: receive a free Tractive device, and any remaining Whistle subscription time will be added to your new Tractive plan. This offer is only valid until September 30, 2025, so make sure to claim it before then.

Will the Tractive GPS tracker work in my area?
Tractive uses a wide range of cellular networks across the U.S. and Canada, providing strong and reliable coverage in most areas. If the Whistle device worked in your area, Tractive almost certainly works there as well. Since Tractive uses multiple carriers and chooses automatically based on network availability, you will find Tractive to cover a much wider area not previously available with the Whistle device.

Will I need to download the Tractive app to track my pet in the future?
Yes - once you switch to a Tractive device, you’ll need to download the free Tractive app to track your pet and access all features.
The Tractive app lets you monitor your pet’s live location, health, activity, and more—all from your phone.

Will the data from my Whistle device carry over to Tractive?
Data from your Whistle device will not be transferred over to Tractive, since Whistle uses different algorithms that would not be compatible with Tractive’s systems.
How will the transition to Tractive affect my data and privacy?
