Senior Test Automation Architect (Mobile/Appium)

Your territory

As part of our Software Quality team, you will:

  • Ensure the quality and reliability of mobile products and backend services relied on by millions of pet parents worldwide

  • Design, develop, and own scalable, modular automated test frameworks and libraries for iOS and Android applications using Appium with Java and/or Kotlin

  • Build, evolve, and architect end-to-end test automation solutions integrated into CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and observable feedback

  • Own the overall automation testing strategy and framework roadmap across mobile platforms and supporting backend systems, setting standards for how we test

  • Design and maintain robust integrations between the automation framework, our in-house Appium-based device farm, and third-party cloud testing providers (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Firebase Test Lab)

  • Lead and contribute to test architecture decisions, improving framework performance, stability, maintainability, and ease of integration with internal tools and services

  • Mentor and guide other QA and SDET team members in framework usage, design principles, and coding standards, fostering a culture of automation and quality-first thinking

Your profile

Key requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET), Test Automation Architect or similar focused on mobile test automation and framework design (iOS & Android)

  • Strong hands-on experience with Appium using Java and/or Kotlin for UI and functional test automation, including building reusable libraries and abstractions

  • Strong grasp of scalable test architecture, plus experience integrating automation with in‑house device farms and cloud providers (e.g., Appium, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs)

  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, test design techniques, and Agile testing practices (Scrum/Kanban)

  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI for automated test execution, including designing how test suites are orchestrated and reported

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to explain architectural decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Very good English skills
